Library Policies
Library Behavior Policy
In order to maintain a proper atmosphere for reading, research, and study in the library, students will be expected to:
Work quietly.
Handle equipment and materials carefully.
Help keep the media center neat and orderly.
Check out all materials at the circulation desk before taking them out.
Student Circulation Policy
Students may check out one book. The book must be returned before another book may be checked out. Exceptions may be made at the classroom teacher's request.
Books may be checked out for up to two weeks before they are overdue. Overdue fines are not charged. Overdue notices are sent weekly.
Students will be charged replacement cost of all lost or damaged books.
A fine of $2.00 is charged for damaged barcodes.
A student may not check out a book until charges have been paid in full.
A student may lose checkout privileges if he/she demonstrates irresponsible behavior. Checkout privileges will be reinstated at the library media specialist's discretion.
Reference materials and audiovisual materials may not be checked out by students.
Library Scheduling Policy
Hours: 7:55 AM- 2:15 PM
Woodall Elementary School is on a fixed library schedule. All classes meet each week for library/computer instruction and checkout.
Additional checkout time is available to students on a daily basis. All students may come for open checkout from 7:55 AM to 2:15 PM each day.
Teachers and staff are welcome in the library anytime.
Classes may be scheduled for research or other activities in the library as time permits. Encyclopedias and dictionaries may be checked out by teachers for classroom use. Please plan with the librarian at least twenty four hours in advance.
